"I began tutoring when I was in college working towards my undergraduate degree. I only had a few clients, but it was nice being able to help students struggling in school to become successful. I continued on with my education and received my master's degree in Inclusive Education (gifted and special education). I have been teaching in a K-6 Special Education classroom for 7 years now. I have continued tutoring after school for 3 of those years. I have also held positions doing homeschooling in Math and ELA for high school students.
Seeing student's succeed and build confidence in themselves and their skills is my passion. I truly enjoy putting forth the effort to encourage children to not give up when they feel frustrated. I love my job and feel I have a lot to offer struggling students.
Numbers come easy to me. I always enjoyed Math and the different ways to compute mentally. Math is an area that is being highly pushed and ever changing in the ways it is taught. Common core can be very challenging for students and parents alike. I am able to help explain these areas and help students reach success. I teach Math daily to students ranging in K-6.
Growing up, my father was an elementary English teacher. My grammar, spelling, reading, and writing were always expected to be top notch at home and in school. I thoroughly enjoy this subject area and feel like I have a lot of experience and knowledge in this area that can be very difficult to learn. I teach ELA daily to students ranging in K-6.
My goal is to help struggling students reach their potential rather than their frustration point. I am open to feedback from parents and students. Feel free to contact me to schedule a tutoring session or for more information. I look forward to hearing from you and helping your child!" less...
