"My name is Elisa! I am a certified teacher in New York State. I graduated with my Bachelor's degree at Hofstra University, focusing on early childhood and childhood education with a co-major in history studies. I then went on to receive my Masters of Science degree in literacy education at Old Westbury College. I have experience working with children from ages pre-K through 6th grade, teaching a variety of subjects.
After finishing my college career, I worked in many different classroom settings with students of all needs and abilities. I have experience working as an academic intervention specialist in grades K-5. I then moved on to teaching Kindergarten for the last 4 years of my career! I have always found so much joy in teaching young minds and working with diverse learners to encourage students and build their confidence as they explore new ideas.
Since I began my teaching career, I have worked as a private tutor for many families. Tutoring children in grades K-6 has profoundly impacted my life by allowing me to connect with my students and witness their growth firsthand. Working alongside these children and families has taught me patience, empathy, and the joy of celebrating small victories. Each child is unique, and helping them overcome challenges, whether it's grasping a difficult concept or building their confidence, has been incredibly rewarding. I tailor my approach to meet each student's needs, using creative methods to make learning engaging and accessible. Through tutoring and my teaching career, I've found a deeper sense of purpose and fulfillment in making a positive difference in their lives." less...
