"I'm Alice! I am studying Information Systems Management at the University of Maryland Global Campus. In school, I understand the importance of having the right guidance that will lead a student on the path to success. As a student, I fully take advantage of tutoring services and thrive in courses where professors are engaging and provide frequent feedback. I try to do the same with the students I work with. I want them to know they have a tutor to rely on that will lead them on a path to success and receive the feedback they need to steer them in the right direction.
I have six months of tutoring experience in the elementary school classroom. I worked directly with students who need additional help with mathematical concepts and spelling. I have a classroom of 18 students but had a small focus group of 5-6 students in my class that received one-on-one tutoring during class to ensure they did not fall behind the rest of their class. Additionally, I tutor students in a private setting and assist with homework in a middle school setting. My favorite part of tutoring is seeing how excited my students get when they realize they understand new concepts and complete problems on their own.
