"Hi! My name is Amy, and I am so excited to be tutoring. More importantly, I am THRILLED to be your tutor. It’s going to be a fun time full of lots of learning and new adventures.
I graduated from Keuka College earning my bachelor’s degree in Unified Elementary Education. I have many years of teaching experience working with small groups of students in kindergarten through fifth grade to meet their academic goals for math, reading, and writing. I have assisted students to increase their reading fluency, word recognition, vocabulary, and comprehension skills in an engaging and interactive approach. I enjoy building students’ self-confidence and motivation in learning to read, write, and solve math equations. I have implemented in school districts the Carbo Reading Program and utilized the Wilson Reading System to teach the structure of language to students. I have also worked with small groups of students to improve their mathematical skills by utilizing Touch Math for addition and subtraction, and the area model for multiplication and division.
I want to build a rapport with both students and parents. This is why I welcome any feedback or suggestions parents or students may have toward reaching their tutoring goals. I am available anytime to answer questions or set up a tutoring session." less...
