"Hello! I'm Kaitlin. I graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Organismal Biology with a concentration in Conservation and Biodiversity. I am passionate about all things science and math, which helps me create a fun and enthusiastic tutoring environment. I am extremely inquisitive and have always learned best by asking multiple questions and I openly welcome questions when tutoring because my goal is to help my students truly grasp the material beyond surface level.
I have multiple years of tutoring in math, science, and test prep. I began ACT tutoring in high school (7-8 years ago) after scoring a 30 on the ACT, with near perfect scores in English and Reading. I have tutored students in a variety of subjects including elementary math, Algebra 1 and 2, Trigonometry, Calculus, Biology, English, writing essays, ACT prep, and ACAP prep. I previously taught Math Intervention for 9th and 11th graders and have previously taught 5th grade math. I approach teaching using a multitude of techniques including modeling, standard algorithms, building fluency, etc. I welcome feedback from students and am always open to learning and trying new teaching methods to meet the needs of my students.
I have taught in a classroom setting, one-on-one during tutoring sessions, group tutoring sessions, and utilized a small-group style of teaching while in the classroom. My goal is to benefit my students as much as possible. I love to see students succeed and become more confident in their skills so they can face each subject with excitement rather than fear or apprehension. I am easy to reach and look forward to hearing from potential students!" less...
