"I'm Amanda! I graduated with an undergraduate degree in Communication, focusing on journalism, and a graduate degree in English. I began my teaching career within my own family as a homeschool mom, and taught Kindergarten and first grader in my local homeschool community. I then transitioned to the public school, where I first taught in a rural, Title I community. I taught third grade for four years, and then middle school ELA at an alternative school before transitioning to online teaching and tutoring. I still receive sweet messages and calls from my former students and families!

I specialize in elementary school phonics, decoding, reading, and writing, and have helped many students develop their reading skills over the years. Some of my current tutoring students have been with me for almost two years, and the growth is incredible!

I do my best to help my students feel that they are in a safe and comfortable environment, and encourage them in both their weaknesses and their strengths along the way! I communicate regularly with my families to ensure their student is focusing on the needed skills, and to share updates on their progress.
