"I have 8 years teaching experience for grades K-5 and 3 years tutoring experience. I have a passion for teacher and love to make learning fun and exciting. I take time to properly assess my students who I tutor so that I can identify their specific needs and determine how to best help them succeed.

I use a hands on approach within my lessons I teach. Students need to be able to physically see how a problem is broken down to help them understand where the answer comes from. I teach based on student needs with the common core standards in mind.

I allow students to read at their own pace, help them understand unknown words, and help them to break apart the words by encouraging them to use decoding strategies. I also help students build their fluency and comprehension as they read.

I focus on helping students identify patterns with in words that will help them determine what a word may be if unknown. I use manipulatives, games, and sorts to also help students be able to fully understand word patterns, blending, vowel patterns, and digraphs all associated with reading.

I am very passionate about teaching and have a lot of patience when it comes to helping a child succeed. I also believe learning should be a fun, interesting, and enjoyable experience." less...
