"I graduated with a degree in Education from Elmhurst College, and obtained my certification in Elementary Education, K-9. I spent the first few years after graduation substitute teaching at all levels, from preschool to eighth grade. My first year as a full-time teacher, I taught and split level third and fourth grade Math and Science class, as well as a first and second grade spelling/reading class. The last few years, I became a fifth grade teacher, and I now teach fifth grade, Math and Science.
Before finding a career in Education, I tutored elementary students ranging in grades first through fourth grade. Throughout the years, I have also volunteered as a tutor for School on Wheels, which works with DCFS, tutoring students grades first through sixth. I have also worked with small groups, and one on one with students within the classroom.
I come prepared for each session, and I am also flexible and able to adapt each lesson to better suit the student, and their needs. I work hard to make connections, and help students discover that learning can be fun! Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule an appointment. I look forward to working with you!" less...
