"I am a semi retired educator. I taught second grade in Wisconsin and Florida. I did federally funded tutoring in Sarasota county and private tutoring in Manatee county. I raised two daughters.

After every lesson I write up a summary of the time I spent with each student. I always call or text to confirm session times. I use a positive approach and like to reward students for completing assignments and staying on task. I take time to meet with parents about any concerns or questions they have.

I earned a BS in Elementary Education. I took a variety of graduate classes to maintain my teachers license. I have 15 years of experience in the classroom and I have been a private tutor since 2011.

I have training in the ECRI Mastery based learning. I have over 20 years of experience working with students in grades Pre K-8

I have extensive experience teaching reading, phonics and word structure based programs. I use a variety of materials and activities to help students improve their skills.

I help students write, spell and read words on their weekly spelling list. I like to use themes to teach skills. So I choose materials based on your child's interests.
