"I love to learn, and I love to share the joy of learning with others. I have years of experience tutoring elementary age children online and two years of teaching young adult & adult learners at the college level. I am the author of a popular college course. My love of learning led me to earn three post-secondary degrees; I hold Bachelor of Fine Arts, Associate of Arts, and Associate in Applied Science degrees.

I began tutoring when fellow classmates in my Associate in Applied Science degree program starting coming to me for help with our coursework. At first, I was just helping my peers a little before and after class, then someone offered to pay me to spend more time working with them. She began telling others that I could explain things in a way that made it so much easier to understand, and soon I was getting regular requests for tutoring. This led me to a professional tutoring role online, where for two years I taught ESL to elementary age students abroad. This program provided me formal tutoring training and required testing to be certified to teach at each level within the program.

Soon after, I had an opportunity to teach as an Adjunct instructor at my alma mater. I had the challenge of taking an existing in-person course and adapting it to an online format while also incorporating a brand-new textbook! This was a challenge I accepted with enthusiasm and determination, and the result was my authoring a new 3 credit hour online offering for the college. I wrote the entire course, including all lectures, assignments, exams, and assessment rubrics. I taught a broad age group of learners, some just out of high school along with adult returning students. I received professional teacher training and studied teaching/learning techniques to refine my course with each semester.
