Hello, my name is Flora. I am a certified teacher with a professional license for teaching 7-12 math. I am passionate about learning and helping others become successful with math. I truly enjoy working with students and have a patient, flexible tutoring style which is both encouraging and collaborative. I am a graduate of Strathclyde University and Business School in Scotland where I earned two master's degrees: Engineering with Math and Business. From my student days I was inspired to bring my love of math to young people and challenge them to reach new goals through tutoring. I have lived in Colorado for the past 25 years and after a successful business career it was time to return to my passion and my dream job of helping young people become self-confident and successful at math. For the past 7 years I've been teaching and tutoring math full-time. I am gratified when I hear from former students and parents that I have had a direct and long-lasting impact on their lives: students now set more ambitious goals, they learned how to work and succeed at something important to them, they made the transition from 'memorizing' math to 'understanding' math, they became confident at math, and one that makes my educator heart smile: they now love math!
