"I am a passionate and experienced tutor and I am excited to offer my services in High School Spanish 1 & 2, Algebra 1, and all middle and elementary subjects. I am currently pursuing my biochemistry degree and I'm a part of the TeachHouston program at the University of Houston, which prepares STEM majors for careers in education through hands-on classroom experiences and educational theory. I also have a strong foundation in Spanish and scored a 5 on the AP Spanish language exam.
I have been tutoring for the past 5 years in both one-on-one and small-group settings. During high school, I volunteered as a tutor at SNHS(Spanish National Honor Society), where I helped students improve their Spanish language skills, including grammar, vocabulary, and conversational fluency. In addition, I frequently tutor my younger family members in various middle and elementary school subjects, assisting with homework and reinforcing key concepts.
Currently, I work as a Youth Development Counselor at the YMCA, where I provide homework assistance and academic support for students ranging from elementary to middle school. This role has further enhanced my ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and approachable way, and I have experience tailoring my methods to accommodate different learning styles.
My tutoring approach is student-centered and adaptive. I focus on using engaging methods such as interactive exercises, visual aids, and real-world examples to help students grasp difficult topics. Whether working with individuals or groups, I strive to create an encouraging and supportive learning environment that fosters both academic success and confidence." less...
