"I’ve been teaching American English pronunciation lessons on Wyzant since Jan. 2022. I carefully analyze my students' English pronunciation, then teach them to adjust the way they place their lips, tongues, etc. to improve their accents. We also work on higher-level skills such as the rhythm, flow, stress, and intonation of English. When requested, my lessons may also include instruction on grammar, usage, or vocabulary. I enjoy helping students attain clearer levels of communication with their coworkers and associates.
I have a Master’s Degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from BYU. As an undergraduate at BYU, I was a Presidential Scholar and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in English. I’m a native Californian, but during my student years I took a year and a half away from the university to teach in Brazil. My second language is Portuguese; my third is Spanish. I am also currently studying beginner Korean, which helps me remember the nuances and challenges of language acquisition.
My previous experience includes teaching English grammar and writing at the university.
