"Language and literature have been my sole passion since childhood. I wrote my first poem at 4 and had my first poem published at 16. I excelled in standardized reading and writing tests (ACT/SAT) and would go on to earn a PhD in English. I have been teaching English and Writing for more than a decade. I published my first book eariler this year and have several others in progress. I also write a popular weekly Substack about poetry and popular culture that now has grown to thousands of subscribers. Writing is deeply intertwined with the fabric of my life.

I have taught at universities, summer camps, K-12 classrooms, and elsewhere. My students have ranged in age from 6 years to older adults. Through all my teaching experiences, I aim to dispel harmful myths about what good writing is and who its for.
