"I'm Denaya! I have over 5 years of experience tutoring college students across disciplines and during any stage of the writing process. I earned my MA in English from Central Connecticut State University in 2021. I have taught courses such as Introduction to College Writing, Introduction to Poetry, and Global Indigenous Literature.

I enjoy working with a variety of students and I am passionate about literature and composition. As a Writing Center Coordinator, I frequently create and deliver workshops on a variety of writing topics, such as brainstorming, AI and the writing process, comma errors, concision strategies, and more. I also stay updated on effective tutoring strategies and professional development.

When it comes to tutoring, I love helping students articulate their thoughts and learn new writing strategies. Effective communication is a valuable skill, and I am happy to help students strengthen their writing and organization techniques. I tend to start with the big picture, looking at the flow and structure of an essay, but I am not afraid to help students improve the smaller elements of grammar and spelling.

I know many strategies for improving your writing, and I have a great deal of experience examining literature. I can help you brainstorm, develop ideas, outline and structure your essay, and even polish off a final draft. I have a sharp eye for grammar and spelling and a strong understanding of MLA formatting.
