"Hi, all! I am a teacher specializing in ESL. In 2019, I received a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification though the International TEFL Academy. The TEFL course taught me the basics of teaching, allowed me to observe class, and from there I was given a handful of classes to teach. Since then, I have been working with a non-profit organization in Colorado. I volunteer to teach a group of students at the intermediate level. It is a great way to get to know the local community, which I love doing!
In my teaching, I like to make class engaging by incorporating a lot of activities and fun practice whenever I can. I believe that learning another language is not just a single track style, there needs to be movement, fun, and it needs to be relatable so that the knowledge can stick. Language is an avenue in which people express themselves, so i like to ensure that we are able to do that to the best of our ability.
I also understand that everyone has a different learning style, and I will do everything I can to accommodate for how you learn best!
I speak no other languages besides English, however, I am in the process of learning Spanish, so I have some Spanish speaking ability.
I have the most experience with teaching beginner-intermediate, intermediate, and advanced students, however all levels and ages are certainly welcome!
I am looking forward to meeting and hopefully inspiring new students to learn English, and I am hoping to learn from them just as much as they may learn from me!
I am happy to meet in person, or online!" less...
