"Hello, my name is Ayush A., and I am a resident orthopaedic surgeon starting my full-time training this year. I typically provide lessons to high school, college, and graduate students looking for help with writing, essay preparation, application drafting, and interviewing skills. I have over 400+ hours of cumulative teaching over the past decade and would look forward to helping you pursue your goals.
I completed my Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering with minors in Business Administration and Electrical Engineering at University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Then, I attended medical school at the University of California - San Francisco (UCSF). During my medical school training, I authored 35+ publications on the topics of artificial intelligence in medicine, patient outcomes, and earned the top 10% most published clinician award per Doximity. Having experience at applying to 30+ medical schools and residencies, crafting over 150+ personal statements and secondary essays, and interviewing at multiple prestigious institutions (Harvard, MIT, UCLA, UCSF), I have a comprehensive idea of what institutions look for in today's applicants.
I know how stressful the process can be. I realized quite early on that writing personal statements for admissions was drastically different from that of the normal academic essay format. Often, the techniques for how to properly write an application are not taught in the class. If there is one thing I learned from the application cycle, it is that every person needs a mentor. Many students believe that the personal statement is a barrier that is difficult to cross. But I sincerely believe that, if done right, the story told within the application can turn from a burden to an asset.
I sincerely look forward to meeting with you and assisting you on your journey. Please don't hesitate to reach out - I will respond within a couple hours. All the best." less...
