"Over the past decade I have taught in a wide variety of contexts ranging from GRE and SAT prep to foreign language instruction, from practicing reading comprehension with classrooms of teens to focusing on math skills one-on-one with adults. Throughout all of this, my aim has been to meet students exactly where they are, working with them to determine the teaching style that is most comfortable for them and making sure the student always feels their needs are being addressed. I am currently a Master's student at the University of Texas at Austin, and as I continue my education I am excited to share my knowledge and experience with students who may find it useful.
I have had personal success in the past with standardized tests (GRE: 338, SAT: 1550) and by preparing students for these tests I have learned some of the common test-taking strategies that lead to the best results. I have been able to help students make visible progress by learning the areas in which they would like to grow and helping them set challenges for themselves that are energizing and motivating rather than daunting or punishing.
