"Hi, I'm Minhal! I graduated as valedictorian of my class at Northeastern University with a degree in Bioengineering (2019) as a University Scholar and Barry Goldwater Scholar. Afterwards, I went abroad to Ireland to pursue my Master's in Public Health at the University College Cork as a Mitchell Scholar (2020). Currently, I am a 4th year medical student at Harvard Medical School within the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences & Technology Program.

I love teaching: I've tutored dozens of students--in STEM, English, and test-prep--for over 7 years and served as a health educator in Boston for 5 years. I care deeply about my relationships with my students and providing them with the structure, support, and skills to reach their goals. Most recently, I've helped several students improve their MCAT scores, with multiple scoring in the 99th percentile. As someone with experience applying for and winning competitive national scholarships and fellowships, I also love guiding students through these potentially daunting application processes.

I have applied for and won multiple competitive national scholarships, including the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and George Mitchell Scholarship, and was a Rhodes, Marshall, and Fulbright Finalist in 2019. I also have significant essay-writing and application experience after successfully navigating the medical school admissions process.

I believe that scoring well on the MCAT exam is more about how you study and plan your test-prep than it is about your Orgo 2 grade: I scored a 527 on my MCAT by creating a structured study plan that prioritized practice (with the best resources) and understanding over rote memorization. I've helped nearly 30 pre-med students prepare for the MCAT and improve their scores through one-on-one tutoring tailored to each student's needs.
