"Hi, I'm Ashley! I am a current Master's student at Georgia Tech studying Biomedical Engineering. I graduated last year with my Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Physics. My tutoring experience started when I was in high school. I served as a teaching assistant (TA) for various algebra and calculus classes. In college, I served as a student assistant in our "Center for Academic Excellence", assisting students to book appointments with our many available tutors. There I also served as a tutor, specializing in calculus and a number of chemistry courses. While I have taken a variety of college courses involving math, anatomy, and engineering, I have truly enjoyed learning and tutoring chemistry over the past 3 years. Beyond tutoring sessions, I have experience working as a TA for college chemistry labs and as an independent researcher for a variety of labs.
Among some of my academic achievements: I graduated as salutatorian of my high school class in 2019, with an advanced regents diploma from NY State. I completed a paid summer research internship at Johns Hopkins in 2021. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's in Science in 2023, with accepted membership to Phi Beta Kappa (a prestigious honors society for college students). I received an Undergraduate Award in Analytical Chemistry from the American Chemical Society in 2023. I also had a successful graduate application cycle, with acceptance to 4 top engineering programs, including Georgia Tech and Stanford University (and would love to help with college applications too!).
I have experience tutoring both high school and college students. While I typically prefer in-person tutoring, I am flexible and can do online sessions as early or late as needed. Overall, my goal as a tutor is to encourage students and find study methods that work best for every individual (as everyone learns different!). I try to stay positive and urge students to follow their passions. I hope to serve as a motivator and helpful advisor for any student's academic journey!" less...
