"Hello, potential students! I am looking forward to offering my skills and expertise through this platform, so let me tell you all a little bit about myself, and hopefully we can get connected!

I am a certified high school English teacher with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in Teaching. I am currently working on my Specialist Degree in Instructional Design and Technology with a focus on literacy. I have been teaching for 10 years, and I have tutored on my own outside of the classroom for a large portion of those years. I was also tutoring through college, before I accepted a teaching position.

I am experienced in teaching grammar, vocabulary, writing, and literature. I have taught 11th grade American Literature for the duration of my teaching career so far, so that is where my literary expertise lies. I have also taught Dual Enrollment classes (ENGL 1101 and 1102), and I was an adjunct professor teaching ENGL 1101 and 1102 for several semesters prior to working as a high school teacher.

I want to help my students become better, more confident writers and better, more engaged readers. During my years in the classroom, I see the struggle that students have with reading and writing on a daily basis, and I think it comes down to lack of engagement and interest, so I want to change that for my students. I want to help students connect what they are learning to their own lives. Ultimately, I want my students to gain confidence in their abilities and take pride in their work.
