"I have a Masters Degree in Education (Social Studies and Students w/ Disabilities Grades 7-12), a Bachelors Degree in Political Science. I have 2 years of teaching experience (Grade 9 Global History 1) in New York State, and have most recently worked in Higher Education. I am certified to teacher social studies Grade 7-12 in New York State.
Besides teaching large groups of students in a classroom setting, I have also worked with students in small group and 1:1 settings. This included leading an extension course multiple times per week, where I was in charge of providing extra help and tutoring to struggling students, students who had behavioral or socio-emotional difficulties as well as IEP or 504 Plans. I was able to improve the performance of these struggling students and helped them improve their performance in their general social studies class.
My experience in developing engaging lessons, using a multitude of technologies, research
theorists, differentiated instruction, and scaffolding while following New York State learning
standards enables me to have the capability of meeting all necessary requirements while also
exhibiting my own creativity and personal approach to delivering effective instruction. I have a
strong understanding of adolescent development and consistently have been recognized by
professors and teachers for my ability to integrate technology into my lessons to deliver
engaging, meaningful instruction while also making effective use of classroom management
strategies. I also believe my positive attitude, mindset, and willingness to improve every day
rubs off on students and has a positive impact on their own mindsets." less...
