"Hi, I’m Jil! I’m a highly qualified teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching and tutoring English in both the Language Arts and Composition. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in English and Secondary Education from Mount Holyoke College and my MSEd from The University of New England, where I graduated with a 4.0 GPA. I have also completed my Graduate Coursework in Social Work from UNE. I am also proud to have been named a Nobel Laureate Educator and a nominee for Disney’s Great American Teacher Award during my career.

I specialize in all aspects of English Language Arts, Literature, and Composition, including Reading Comprehension, Literary Analysis, Grammar, Writing, Editing, Public Speaking, AP (Advanced Placement) Literature, AP Language and Composition, AP and SAT preparation, and College Admissions and Applications.

I am passionate about not only educating my students but also encouraging them to believe in themselves and their intelligence. Education should be personalized, accessible, and available to everyone. I believe everyone can master the English language, the art of reading, writing, analysis, and communication, which are the foundational skills of all other subject matter.

In addition to the thousands of students I taught at the High School level, I have also tutored and supported countless students of all ages from elementary school into college. My lessons are personally designed to enhance your strongest skill sets and to help you improve upon the areas in which you need to grow.
