"Hi, I'm Anoop! I graduated High School at Scripps Ranch High School, San Diego, CA, and am committed to the University of California, Irvine, for Computer Engineering. During my time in high school, I went through many math courses and succeeded in obtaining exceptional scores throughout various classes, from Integrated Math 1 to self-studying Calculus BC and getting a 5 on the AP test. I’ve obtained A’s in all of my math courses, and have an excellent understanding of the topics. Although I did well in my studies, I also understand the difficulty of learning in large classrooms, where topics can be fast-paced and confusing and certain needs can not be provided to individuals, causing them to fall behind.
My tutoring experience consists primarily of a 12-week volunteer service at Thinkist’s peer tutoring service, where I learned and continue to implement the practice of MetaSocratic tutoring, as it has worked wonders for me to teach individuals who were a year younger than me with delicate foundations in mathematics as well as language barriers. I'm primarily trained to teach in a one-on-one setting but can adapt to working with more students at once.
I believe that tutoring doesn’t just help the tutee but helps the tutor as well. Throughout my experience with tutoring, I have learned, along with my experience learning, various methods for teaching individuals with certain plights, which is why I always welcome constructive criticism.
