"I’m Tosha and I have a Ph.D. in Chemistry with an emphasis in Physical Biochemistry from Northern Illinois University and a B.S. in Chemistry from Southern Oregon University. I have seven years of experience tutoring math and science at the high school and college levels, and eight years of teaching advanced chemistry and biochemistry lab courses at the college level. My goal is to help students develop critical thinking skills and a solid understanding of the material. This will enable my students to tackle the toughest exam questions. Due to this teaching approach, I was awarded the Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award for Upper Division Chemistry by the NIU Chemistry department in 2023.

Outside of teaching, I’m a digital illustrator and sketch artist. Because of my artistic talents, I leverage these skills during tutoring sessions to create quick and clear visual aids to help students engage with the concepts in a more dynamic way." less...
