"Hello! My name is Alaina, and I am a History Education major at the top teaching college in my state. In high school, I finished with a 4.0 unweighted gpa, and a 4.3 weighted gpa. I passed the AP Test for U.S. Government, U.S. History, and World History and received an A in each class. I am equipped to teach students content in each of these classes, and the on level version of each class. I also have learned many test taking skills for the AP tests for students nervous for the test and those struggling with test preparation. I also took teaching classes for dual credit and got to experience student teaching within my own school district. During this time I created lessons, taught in large group settings, and work one on one with students that varied significantly in needs from their educators. As a student, I spent 5 hours a week tutoring peers that were a year behind me in classes. This gave me a lot of insight and experience that has made me a better tutor. It also strengthened my understanding of the content.
In college, I have become an on campus tutor, where I help students with American History, Government, and World History. I am also in teaching classes that have taught me how to individualize the tutoring experience for each student I work with. This combined has made me a qualified and helpful tutor no matter if the student's goal is to prepare for a test, master material, or even get ahead.
I am confident that I will be able to work with the student to find the learning style that works for them, and each student will see success. I am so excited to work with everyone and hear about the great things you all achieve in school!" less...
