"I'm Yousef! I graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University with a B.A. in Near Eastern Studies and earned certificates in Humanistic Studies and Creative Writing. My background in History, Literature, and Language Arts has allowed me to develop strong analytical and writing skills, which I love sharing with my students. As a student, I always had an aptitude for standardized testing, earning a 2340 SAT score, 171 LSAT, and several 5s on AP exams, and I have translated this success to my tutoring practice as I help students refine their test-taking strategies.
Most of my five years of tutoring experience have been with high school and college students, focusing on college application essays, standardized test prep (SAT, SSAT), analytical writing, and literary analysis. I have worked in a variety of educational settings—from designing a World History curriculum for ESL students to leading SSAT prep review sessions to one-on-one mentoring for college admissions essays. My approach is always tailored to each student, emphasizing critical thinking, clarity in writing, and confidence in their academic work.
I am currently preparing to pursue a Ph.D. in History, and outside of tutoring, I enjoy creative writing (poetry & screenwriting) and playing music. I love helping students incorporate their interests, academic or otherwise, into our sessions to make learning both effective and engaging. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a lesson—I look forward to working with you!" less...
