"Hi, I’m Jake! I recently graduated from Hofstra University in Long Island, New York with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, and minors in American Politics and General Business Studies. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I took classes in various subjects, such as Constitutional Law, American Foreign Policy, Political Language, International Relations, Comparative Politics, Criminal Law, and many more. I also participated in activities, such as Moot Court and Speech & Debate to hone my writing and public speaking skills. Professionally, I have interned for entities, such as the Department of Justice in the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, as well as the US Senate after working full-time for a New York law firm specializing in real estate law.
My approach to learning combines everything I have gained from these experiences, academically or otherwise. In my experience, the best learning should focus on understanding the material as secondhand knowledge, rather than simple memorization. Some of the best professors I’ve had utilized personalized learning under different methods, rather than a blanket approach to all students. In the same way, I strive to tailor my assistance specifically to the student I am helping to best allow them to succeed on their own.
I want to benefit the students I work with as much as possible. Therefore, I welcome any resources or suggestions students or parents can provide. I am easy to reach and will always provide fast responses. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!" less...
