"I’m Alisha! I graduated in 2017 from SUNY Cobleskill with Bachelors Degree in Communications. During my time in college I tutored regularly in History, Writing, Journalism, and Interpersonal Communications. Currently I am working on my Masters Degree in Higher Education. I have always had a passion for life long learning and believe that learning can be fun. I find the subjects we struggle with the most, also have the most to teach us.

I understand that not every student learns information the same way and it is extremely important to be flexible and have different approaches to teaching the materials. I create lesson plans to provide a structured plan to the material we need to cover. I incorporate different methods such as memory games, quizzes, and more to facilitate learning. Of course each approach is adjusted to provide optimal support for the specific student.

I have worked with student K-6th for many years starting in high school when I helped run a peer program that paired high school students with younger students in need of assistance.

I am excellent at test prep and very familiar with regents style testing which makes me an excellent aid in regents test prep.

While in college I took multiple history classes ranging from broad topics like US History to more specialized classes like History of the 60s or Women’s History. I am also a history buff in my personal life which gives me a wide variety of experience.

I am very easy going, and have a passion for helping student find enjoyment in the topics they usually find most frustrating. I am flexible and ready to work with you to find an approach that most fits your needs." less...
