"I have 30 years of experience in teaching Italian. I've recently retired from teaching Italian in a public school district at both the middle and high school levels. I've also taught Italian at the college level and in other private organizations. I possess both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Italian and Italian literature. I'm also licensed to teach Italian in MA. I've spent 14 summers in Italy since 1995 and have extensive knowledge of Italian Language and Culture.
My approach to teaching Italian is both grammatical and proficiency based. I believe that it's necessary to understand the most essential nuances of Italian grammar in order to learn proper structure and linguistic accuracy. I implement a variety of modalities into my teaching which address all 4 basic components of language learning: speaking, writing, reading and listening. In addition to using grammatical exercises for practice, I use authentic Italian resources in my teaching such as music, video, prose and poetry to name a few." less...
