"Hello! I’m Teddi, and I’m excited to share a bit about my journey in education. With over 30 years of experience as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal across Kansas and California, I’m passionate about helping students thrive.

I hold a BS in Elementary Education and a Master’s in Educational Administration. After spending 28 wonderful years in Kansas, I moved to California, where I've served as an assistant principal and principal for the last 5 years. As I transition into the next phase of my career, I’m eager to stay connected to students and their learning journeys.

My true passion lies in teaching reading and numeric literacy. I find the science of reading and the incredible minds of children absolutely fascinating! My goal is to uncover each child’s unique strengths and connect those to their individual learning styles, helping them become motivated learners. If reading is the focus, phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension will be examined to discover what level to begin. Through dynamic lessons and play, I will take them where they are and move them forward. If enhancing math skills is the target, I will look at age level expectations and begin working on mastery by making the learning relative to their world.

Building trusting relationships is the foundation of my approach. I believe that making mistakes is part of the learning process, and I create an environment where students feel safe to explore and grow. I use a variety of assessments to understand where each child starts academically and then work with them to set achievable goals. I love celebrating their successes with both students and families!
