"As a retired Physics Ph.D. from the University of California (SD), I've been tutoring math and physics for over 3 years. My AP Math and Physics students regularly score 5 in SAT AP tests or in the top 5% tiles! I enjoy seeing students' eyes lighting up when I show them how to work out succinct and clear solutions for deep learning. For over 10 years at community college, I taught calculus, statistics, algebra, business mathematics, engineering mechanics, physics and lab classes to evening and summer students, receiving many high reviews and with a higher student enrollment among the same concurrent classes. My goal is to help students improving GPA, establishing good study habit, and cultivating problem solving skills.
Can't resist solving good Kakuro, KenKen, Sudoku puzzles and have my own published Sudoku mobile apps in iTunes store and Android markets (Google, Amazon, NOOK) since 2009. Always ready to learn and expand technical know-hows to stay current with latest technological needs and challenges so I can better broaden students' horizon and prepare their journey ahead. My decades' programming experience ranges progressively from Fortran, C/C++, Java to Python in scientific computing.
I tutor students at public places such as SF Public Library study rooms or coffee shops. In-home tutoring option is available only after several tutoring sessions. Please feel free to reach out for questions." less...
