"Hi, I'm Elise! I graduated from Williams College with a bachelor's degree in biology and math. I fell in love with tutoring as a peer tutor in high school and then volunteered at a nonprofit tutoring elementary through high school students in reading and math. I was hired as an intern at that same nonprofit over the summer for two summers in college teaching three half-hour classes to groups of 15-20 students in person, and then remotely tutoring elementary schoolers through college students in reading and statistics.
While I was in college, I worked in the local middle and high schools tutoring students both remotely and in person. I worked with a range of subjects including English, history, math, statistics, and science. I also organized and led a tutoring program for high school students. I was referred to privately tutor high schoolers in math, biology, statistics, and SAT prep. Outside of the local schools, I peer tutored college students in math, statistics, biology, and chemistry and TA-ed for the biology department.
Since graduating from college, I have been working full-time in a genetics research lab at Yale. This gives me firsthand experience with many genetics, evolution, and biotechnology concepts. I have also taken and tutored many undergraduate-level proof-based math courses including real analysis, abstract algebra, topology, and probability. While here, I have been tutoring students in-person and remotely in genetics, biology, high school and college-level math, and statistics. I am excited to connect with more students through Wyzant!" less...
