"I am a graduate of Northern Vermont University where I received my degree in Outdoor Education. Much of our time in the program was spent teaching others how to build confidence and skills. Before college, I spent a year as a private special education peer tutor in high school teaching basic life skills. After college, I spent a year as a private tutor for K-12 and a few college students. This was in math and science. I have also spent two years working as a paraprofessional in a high school with 9-12 graders in the math and science departments. I offer additional classroom support, goals, expectations, and resources. I have worked one-on-one, in small groups, and large groups. I like to have my students express their concerns, goals, strengths, and weaknesses about the subject they want help in. I have no problem trying to find new ways to help teach. This includes color coding, relating it to real life, or even making custom problems." less...
