"Hi there! My name is Sarah and I am currently a math professor at Western New Mexico University.
A little about my teaching background:
I hold a Bachelor's in Mathematics from Louisiana State University with a concentration in Secondary Education and a Master's in Mathematics from Boise State University where I maintained a 4.0 GPA. This is my 8th year teaching in a classroom setting, but I've been tutoring math for over 12 years. I've worked with lots of different students including: elementary students, middle school students, high school students, college students, students with learning disabilities, and many more!
My approach to teaching math is simple: make math as intuitive and easy for students to understand as possible. When I was younger, (middle school and early high school) I struggled with math. It wasn't until I was a junior in high school that things clicked. I owe my success in math and passion for teaching to my high school teachers who believed in my potential. Because I once struggled in math, I know how important it is to be kind and patient with students on their journey. Students appreciate my straight-forward, no nonsense approach to learning math, and they like that I am highly detailed with explanations. My course evaluations for algebra, calculus, and trigonometry have been consistently above average, and I have been nominated for "Best Online Course Design" and "Best Online Course Delivery" each year.
I am so excited that you are interested in math tutoring with me. It is my promise that you will be 100% satisfied with my explanations and dedication to your success. Please contact me to schedule your first lesson! I look forward to working with you. :)" less...
