"I am Ali! I graduated cum laude with a degree in Hotel & Food Administration from Boston University. Previous to transferring majors, I completed three years of coursework in Electrical Engineering. I have always had a passion for mathematics and physical sciences. Upon graduating I spent a few years working in the family business, a very busy florist. My wife is a teacher and encouraged me to obtain a teaching certification and join her in the teaching profession. I spent 12 years teaching all levels of math and science in middle school and mathematics in high school. I enjoyed teaching the most advanced math classes as much as I did working with small groups of special education students in math support classes. My classes were always student centered. I encouraged students to build skills not only in the subject area but also to strengthen study and test taking skills.

I left the classroom to be a stay-at-home dad a decade ago. I have loved my time with my two children, one in college now and the other headed there next year. During this time I continued to tutor students in all levels of mathematics including AP Calculus. I also worked for the town of Greenwich as a Homebound tutor, working with students who could not attend classes to complete their math and science curriculum. I also worked with these students in Chemistry and Physics coursework.

When I work with students my goal is to reduce school related anxiety, build skills in the subject area, strengthen study and organizational skills, and develop successful test taking strategies. I have had consistent success working one-on-one with my tutoring students. I enjoy the process and take great satisfaction in witnessing the pride that students take in their academic success and growth.
