"I am Khayahsi! I am a math major. In college, I realized that I have a skill for creating unique ways to grasp math concepts. It was the communication of these mathematical ideas that played the most key role in understanding them. I realized that the way my professors and peers approached learning the concepts was related to the capability of solving a problem. I bring this knowledge and development of skill to my tutoring sessions and do everything I can to make learning a wholistic experience. I use books and create lesson plans which are suited for the students learning style. Next, I encourage students to practice and apply what they have learned. I take into consideration the topic and the students’ individual needs.

I have a year of teaching middle and high school Algebra. I worked with bilingual Montessori students each having a different approach to learning: kinetic, visual, auditory or a combination! The classes were sizes 3 to 5, a small but active group of students. Additionally, I helped tutor students who were planning for a standardized college test or wanted extra time to grasp concepts. There were students that needed help organizing their class material and others needed help solving Algebra problems from the homework.
