"Hello! My name is Jay, and I am passionate about helping students unlock their potential and achieve academic success. My tutoring journey began early, assisting friends and classmates with math homework. This foundation grew into a more formal role during my time at the University of Redlands, where I worked with students at the San Bernardino County Juvenile Detention and Assessment Center, helping them earn math credits toward their GEDs. I graduated in 2022 with a BA in Economics, a field that further sharpened my analytical and problem-solving skills.
After graduation, I worked within the Alhambra Unified School District, leading an after-school program and designing a computer science curriculum for middle school students. These experiences have honed my ability to teach in both one-on-one and classroom settings. I specialize in mathematics, economics, and computer science, and my teaching approach is centered on patience, adaptability, and creating meaningful connections with students. By understanding each student’s unique interests and challenges, I tailor explanations and metaphors to make complex concepts more accessible.
I would love to work with you or your child to turn struggles into successes. I offer a free consultation meeting to discuss goals and learning needs and request a 24-hour notice for cancellations. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to learn more or schedule a session—I look forward to helping you achieve your academic goals!" less...
