"Hi, I am Guy and I live in Denver, Colorado.

I am a highly experienced teacher and tutor of mathematics, with over 20 years of experience teaching mathematics both in a classroom setting and through one-one private tutoring. I have experience across a range of age groups and topics but specialize in tutoring key mathematics topics like algebra and calculus to those aged 14-18. In addition to teaching these topics, I have taught statistics, mechanics, differential equations, discrete math and computer science. I also have experience preparing students for rigorous university entrance exams and interviews in mathematics and computer science. I have taught in the United States, United Kingdom and China, and have tutored privately in both the US and UK, receiving a number of accolades for my effective teaching.

Students often struggle in math because of the pace of classroom teaching or because there is only one teacher and many students, so gaps in knowledge remain unfilled. I believe even a few one-one sessions can help students unlock their potential and help them make great strides forward. I take great pleasure in helping learners make connections and fill in gaps in their knowledge and I enjoy seeing how this can boost learners' confidence and enjoyment of mathematics as a subject.

I have received multiple accolades for my teaching practice, including a "Teacher of the Year" award while working at Richard Taunton College in the UK. I have led teacher training sessions on effective delivery in the classroom. In 2017, I gave a presentation on effective STEM teaching to an international conference in Shanghai.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics, graduating summa cum laude, with an overall GPA of 3.92 on a 4.0 scale. I received a scholarship in my final undergraduate year and delivered workshops and revision sessions to other undergraduates.
