"I am a recent graduate of California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Mathematics. I believe students would enjoy knowing that although my favorite subject is Math, I also have struggled in Math as well and know that it is easy to give up when getting the incorrect answer to math problems or failing an exam. I even failed my AP Calculus AB course in high school on my first try. But despite having failed my first calculus course, I aced all my Calculus courses at Cal State Fullerton and continued persevering through higher level mathematics courses later on. I am confident that any student can do math with continuous effort and patience. While many students may lack the effort and patience, with the right motivation, anyone can succeed in any historically, difficult class like math.

What I love about tutoring is seeing the look on students' faces when they finally understand the material and can independently start completing the problems on their own. I hope that when they are able to solve math problems with a complete understanding that they can even teach someone else, passing on their knowledge and skills. A great exercise of enforcing the material is to even have them solve the problem and teach it to someone as they are solving it.

My most recent teaching/tutoring experience includes working as a Supplemental Instruction (S.I.) Leader for the Department of Mathematics at Cal State Fullerton where I facilitated study sessions promoting collaborative learning among groups of about 4-10 college students. I created worksheets and played educational games to enhance students' knowledge of the material and promote teamwork and critical thinking skills. Additionally, I worked as a tutor at Cal State Fullerton both at the Math Tutoring Center and outside school hours in subjects such as Calculus, College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, and Basic Math.
