"Hi, my name is Dora and I want to spread the knowledge that has given me success in my life! I have four years (and counting) of tutoring experience in mathematics. My first year of experience I taught primarily math subjects to middle and high school students in my hometown. For two years I was a mathematics tutor for the athletics program at Stony Brook University. I am a recent graduate from Stony Brook, with a bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics and Statistics. Since then, I've continued to tutor mathematics.
Do you or your child ever get frustrated when math suddenly loses its meaning and just becomes a bunch of letters? My teaching helps by focusing on understanding the underlying concepts instead of trying to memorize everything. Not only do students have a deeper understanding of the material, but it has been shown to be a more effective way to learn. That means less time studying!
