"Hi! My name is Ben, and I am an incoming M1 student at a top medical school. I previously graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in Mathematics with dual minors in Biology and Chemistry. I scored a 523 on the MCAT exam through self-studying, including perfect scores of 132 on both the Chemistry/Physics and CARS sections. I am looking to help current pre-med students achieve their goals on this challenging exam.
I have substantial experience in both academic teaching and MCAT tutoring, and have already helped several of my friends achieve score increases of 5+ points on their exams. I am well-versed in most of the commonly-used prep materials, including UWorld, Anki, AAMC Materials, Khan Academy, etc. and understand how to leverage each of them towards increasing exam preparedness. I know that each student has different timelines, weekly schedules, and study styles, and I am committed to finding a routine and plan that works with each person's skills and goals. I take pride in my ability to hone the test-taking strategies needed to achieve small improvements at the highest levels, and have been particularly effective at helping students achieve substantial increases in their CARS score.
Outside of test preparation, I have been a teacher in some form since high school, where I mentored dozens of younger students as captain of the debate team and research program lead. In college, I was a teaching assistant for multiple science courses of all levels, from introductory Biology to upper-level Biochemistry courses. I was also a lead tutor in the university Core Tutor program, specializing in General and Organic Chemistry. In addition to MCAT tutoring, I would be happy to work with students in any of these challenging science subjects as well.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a session! I offer a free 15-minute initial consultation to determine if I would be a good fit for you and your goals." less...
