"I’m Tiffany! I graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. I graduated with high distinction with my master’s degree in Educational Leadership. I decided to pursue teaching and completed the American Board program and received my certification in math grades 5th - 12th and I have been teaching for 3 years now. I have taught 6th grade and am currently teaching Algebra 2 and Pre Calculus but next year I have decided to switch schools and will be teaching Pre Algebra, Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, and College Math.
I have tutored my peers all through high school and college and continued tutoring when I started my teaching career. I worked for a company tutoring students, in 3rd - 8th grades in math. I teach different methods and try to work with each student to figure out what best works for them. I understand that you may need a different teaching style to grasp the material and I will work to figure out what will best work for you to be successful. In math, problems can often be done several ways and I will show you the different ways I know so you can choose which makes the most sense to you.
Most of my experience in teaching and tutoring students has been with 8th, 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade students and freshmen in college. I have tutored students in various ways including classroom setting, one-on-one, and virtually. I would like to receive any material you would like to go over in advance so I can prepare instruction and practice problems that we can review. When we meet I would go over the material and do guided problems where we work them together. Once we have completed those then we will complete more problems so you have the chance to practice on your own and ask any questions you may have. In my experience, students who learn the material but are not confident in it will make more mistakes on tests and second-guess themselves. However, if you learn the material and practice until mastery you can be confident in taking any assessment.
I look forward to working with you." less...
