"I am currently an 8th grade math teacher that tutors 4th-10th grade math with a specialty in pre-algebra through geometry. I have a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Mathematics, Art and Music from Sonoma State University and have a California Multiple Subject and Math Credential. I have taught 4th grade through 10th grade math for over 10 years. With my love for math, I have the desire to express and instill the importance and purpose of mathematical skills and confidence in each student.

In my tutoring sessions, I like to use hands-on instruction and real life connections to help students learn and appreciate math. I love working with students who believe they struggle with math and I believe that any student can do well in math when given confidence and presented with the correct instruction. It is a joy of mine to be a part of a student’s math journey and to build a strong rapport with them. Additionally,I have experience with special education students who have various learning difficulties within a general education setting.

I have 8+ years experience in using IXL math in the classroom and as a tutoring tool. I have been an IXL ambassador for 3 years and have had IXL write an article featuring my classroom use of IXL. I am also able to assist students through their skills if they are able to access IXL.
