"Hello all! Currently, I teach sixth grade English Language Arts at a Middle School in Pemberton Township. Prior to Pemberton, I taught seventh and eighth grade English and electives such as short stories, creative writing, dystopian novels, and oral interpretation in Wall Township. In all of my classrooms, I consistently use data to create differentiated, student-centered, and NJSLS and PARCC aligned lessons. Outside the classroom, I have presented Google Docs workshops and a classroom management workshop. I also have served as a member of the ELA Curriculum Review Committee, PBSIS, Transition Committee, and as the PTO Liaison. I have obtained my Google Educator Certificate as well.
Prior to teaching, I student taught at High Technology High School, leading ninth grade World Literature, a humanities-based integrated course, and twelfth grade Media Literacy. After graduating with a Bachelors of Arts in English from Southeastern University, I wrote for local online news platforms before entering into the education field. My journalism background has proven to be an asset in the classroom.
Outside the classroom, I have also spent time developing and directing a social and religious early childhood and elementary program at Vital Church in Toms River. During the summers, I supervise and develop the social skills of students with disabilities in a specialized summer program at Camp Excel for Monmouth and Ocean County. I set high standards for myself and my students, as we both develop and grow in the art of English.
I have taught sixth, seventh and eighth grade English and electives such as short stories, creative writing, dystopian novels, and oral interpretation. In all of my classrooms, I consistently use data to create differentiated, student-centered, and NJSLS and PARCC aligned lessons. I also pioneered a PSAT prep summer course.
I hope to have the pleasure of discussing how I can contribute to your educational career." less...
