"Welcome, students! I invite you to draw on my background and expertise to answer your educational questions. Let's sit down together, and talk through whatever challenges you are facing. I will work to strengthen your skillset and give you resources and ideas to become an independent learner. We can practice together skills that you would like to improve.

I have over 15 years experience teaching Music in both public and private schools. I hold a Masters of Music in Choral Conducting, and have taught Choir, General Music, Beginning Strings, Beginning Band, and private piano lessons. My main instrument is the piano, and my secondary instrument is the voice. I also play the organ. My B.A. is in English, and I spent time tutoring in Hood College's Writing Center for a semester; I also worked on the school newspaper as a copyeditor and assistant editor for four years. I was a student editor for Hood College's Honor Program publication.

I can help you with your Music Theory homework, with practicing dictation or sight-singing skills, or with writing or editing essays for English class. I can help you respond to English literature or understand a passage you are reading. I will challenge you to develop your understanding and critical thinking skills so you can apply the knowledge you have learned in school or on a test.
