"I’m an experienced and dedicated educator, researcher, and musician. I was most recently a graduate teaching assistant at Middle Tennessee State University, where I taught an undergraduate music theory class and offered theory, counterpoint, and orchestration tutoring. I also assisted in the instruction of music history courses. Other work experience includes 9 years of professional performing (voice, piano, and guitar), leadership roles such as serving as a choir leader and a musical director, historical research, and 5 years experience tutoring music theory. My research to date has included early medieval music, musical narrative in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, English Renaissance literature, and cultural identity in Viking metal. I have a bachelor’s degree in music (theory and composition specialization - magna cum laude), have completed graduate coursework in musicology, and will earn a master’s degree in music in 2024.
