"I have over 35 years of experience as a Registered Nurse and more than 16 years of teaching nursing students in both practical nursing and associate degree nursing. My favorite topics are pathophysiology and medical-surgical nursing. I have developed several concept maps to help break down complex topics for students.

I prefer to work with students on a one-to-one basis to learn their specific learning preferences. I have completed an additional master's degree in Educational Psychology to aid in reducing test-taking anxiety and facilitate testing strategies for the high-stakes testing in a nursing program.

Students state that I have a way of explaining ideas so they can understand concepts, and I utilize several analogies to bring a complex idea into something more straightforward. I have a passion for teaching and making the students feel accomplished by their learning.

I have utilized different standardized testing products as a nursing educator. I can analyze the data provided and assist the student in developing a learning plan for taking their NCLEX exam. I also teach test-taking strategies for NCLEX-style questions.

I highly encourage pre-licensure nursing students to contact me within the first few weeks of the term or semester before they receive failing grades or find themselves lagging.
