"I have over ten years of direct teaching experience both in the classroom and through one-on-one tutoring with high school and college students. I have a Master's and PhD in chemistry. I’ve had the opportunity to teach hundreds of students over the years. As a tutor, I am very patient and love to help others reach their full potential; I explore alternative teaching styles so that students can accomplish their academic goals and to help them see the fun in learning and doing science. Researching and teaching chemistry, but especially organic chemistry, is undoubtedly a passion for me.

When teaching, I tailor my methods to the needs of each individual student. As a tutor and classroom teacher, I am keenly aware of which strategies ensure deep learning in chemistry and I do not teach methods that simply promote rote memorization. Most importantly, I teach each student how to problem-solve and think critically about chemistry. I will focus on learning techniques, study strategies, and timing and impart all of the knowledge I have gained--a compilation of extensive experience and expertise in chemistry--that cannot simply be found online, in textbooks, or any one study guide.

Most notable about me as a teacher is my patience and ability to relate to students, regardless of where they are in their educational path. My teaching style is especially focused on deep learning through mentorship and I engage and encourage every student to provide feedback along the way and to dictate the pace of learning. When tutoring, I provide clear explanations for each important concept and then apply those concepts by immediately solving examples. I also make myself available for students outside of lessons. My main goal as a tutor is for each student to succeed on their exams.
