"Hello! My name is Teri and I have been a classroom teacher for the past 28 years. I specialize in middle school Reading and English, with a passion for helping kids of all ages succeed in school. I have a bachelor's degree in education and English and a master's degree in education and Reading. I am a certified English teacher and Reading Specialist. I have been teaching 7th grade for the past 22 years. I also taught 11th grade English online and have experience teaching young learners as well. I spent a summer teaching 4–9-year-old Chinese students the English language.

My teaching style is student oriented with a focus on active engagement. When working with students, I first assess their individual learning styles by observing how they process information and asking them about their preferences. Once I have a clear understanding of their learning style, I adapt my teaching methods accordingly to maximize their comprehension and retention. I select high interest materials and resources that my students find relatable.
